Our New Range Of Shampoo Bars Explained
·
·
In the world of hair care, the choices can be overwhelming, but our shampoo bars stand out with their simplicity and effectiveness.
Unlike many commercial options that rely on harsh sulphates and detergents, our shampoo bars are crafted through a traditional slow-set, cold-pressed method, preserving the natural integrity of the plant oils that we use. This approach not only maintains the wholesome benefits of the ingredients but also ensures a product that is kinder to your hair and scalp.
To be completely honest with you, our shampoo bars are probably the most divisive of the products that we make. Some of our customers absolutely love them Others just can't make the bars work for them.
Given this, I just wanted to take a bit of time to talk you through our current range of shampoo bars. Up until now, we've been selling our older heritage style shampoo bars alongside these new kids on the block but that's going to be changing in the next little while as we begin to sell out of these golden oldies.
The Original Solid Shampoo Bar: A Timeless Choice
Our Original Solid Shampoo Bar is a beloved classic, perfect for all hair types. Crafted from luxurious natural oils such as sweet almond, coconut, and grapeseed, and enhanced with the aromatic bliss of patchouli essential oil, mandarin oil, and petitgrain essential oil, this bar is designed to nourish and rejuvenate your hair. Its rich lather cleanses effectively while the essential oils leave a refreshing scent that energises and soothes.
Sensitive Scalp Shampoo Bar: Gentle and Soothing
For those with sensitive scalps, finding the right hair care product can be a challenge. Our Sensitive Scalp Shampoo Bar is formulated with sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, and a soothing blend of eucalyptus, rosemary, and patchouli essential oils. This composition helps soothe and calm the scalp, reducing irritation and promoting healthy hair growth. It's a gentle yet effective solution for maintaining scalp health and hair vitality.
Conditioning Shampoo Bar: Dual-Action Hydration
Replacing our conditioner bars, our Conditioning Shampoo Bar combines the moisturising powers of shea butter and cocoa butter with our soap base to create a conditioning lather that not only cleanses but also deeply hydrates. This bar is ideal for those looking to streamline their hair care routine without compromising on quality and effectiveness.
Getting the Best Results
To maximise the benefits of our shampoo bars, wet your hair thoroughly then slide the bar over your scalp a few times. Lather up the product with your hands and massage it into your hair and scalp, letting the natural oils and butters work their magic. Rinse thoroughly. For those using the Conditioning Shampoo Bar, you might find that you won’t need an additional conditioning product, depending on your hair type.
Our shampoo bars are a testament to the power of simplicity and tradition in hair care. By choosing them, you’re not only treating your hair to the best of nature’s offerings but also supporting a more sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to beauty. Try them out and experience the difference for yourself!
Understanding the Detox Period: Transitioning to Natural Shampoo Bars
For those new to our shampoo bars, it's important to understand the "detox period," a common experience that can last anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. During this time, your hair adjusts from the harsh detergents found in typical shampoos—which strip away natural oils—to the nourishing richness of our oil-based shampoo bars. This transition period is normal and expected as your hair recalibrates its natural oil production.
During the detox period, you might notice that your hair feels unusually greasy or heavy shortly after washing. This is because your scalp is adapting to the more moisturising, oil-rich shampooing provided by our bars. To manage this, we recommend spacing out your hair washes as much as possible. Over time, you'll find that the plant oils in our shampoo bars will absorb into your hair, enhancing its volume and body.
Additionally, remember to use a small amount of the shampoo bar during each wash. Our bars are highly concentrated, compared to water-based shampoos, and a little goes a long way.
